These are by no means the definitive answers to all your potential questions. If you have any further please speak to your EVENSWISS consultant or contact us at: info@evenswiss.es or .co.uk

All EVENSWISS products contain the unique and exclusive active ingredient Dermatopoietin®. Dermatopoietin® stimulates the skin to revive its structure and function by triggering the release of several endogenous factors which activate the skin’s inherent renewal programme and stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin.

2. What is Dermatopoietin® and how does it work?
3. Another peptide added to EVENSWISS products is Hexadeltine. What is its function?

Dermatopoietin® is the unique and exclusive active ingredient only available in EVENSWISS skin and hair care products. It is the full equivalent of human interleukin-1 alpha, the epidermal cytokine that controls the homeostasis (regeneration) of skin. Interleukin-1 alpha naturally diminishes with age.

Our Dermatopoietin® affects deep skin structures without penetrating skin. When applied onto skin it stimulates the keratinocytes on the surface of skin to release endogenous interleukin-1 alpha. In other words, the application of Dermatopoietin® (= exogenous interleukin-1 alpha) triggers the release of endogenous interleukin-1 alpha. This latter release triggers a cascade which eventually activates the skin's natural renewal process by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin as well as other factors needed for healthy skin.

Hexadeltine was a major breakthrough in achieving the unique action of the EVENSWISS range. By combining it with interleukin-1 alpha it ensures the exact amount of interleukin-1 alpha released by keratinocytes. Secondly, it aids the stimulation of capillary blood flow, which is critical in ensuring the desired outcomes. Thirdly, Hexadeltine helps reduce inflammation. It is the combination of these two peptides in our products that make up our unique and patented Dermatopoietin® Peptide Complex.

4. Interleukin-1 alpha and Hexadeltine are both peptides. What is a peptide?

Peptides are chains of naturally occurring amino acids. They come in different lengths. If the number of amino acids is larger than 50 one usually speaks of proteins. Interleukin-1 alpha is composed of 159 amino acids, it can thus be referred to as protein, while Hexadeltine has only 6 amino acids; it is thus a typical peptide. There are different types of peptides with their specific functions in our bodies. Interleukin-1 alpha in the Dermatopoietin® Peptide Complex plays a signalling role.

Two important proteins in our skin are collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin give our skin its thickness and suppleness. When collagen and elastin break down in the skin (from age and environmental factors like sun light and stress), wrinkles form. Dermatopoietin® applied topically to the skin sends a signal through the skin to prompt the formation of new collagen and elastin.

5. Which skin types benefit from EVENSWISS skin care products?

The regenerative mechanisms of skin are the same in all skin types. Everybody can thus use EVENSWISS products. Your skin specialist will advise you how to benefit best from using EVENSWISS products.

6. Are EVENSWISS products suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. The developers of the EVENSWISS products avoided to the best of their knowledge ingredients known to be irritating or allergenic.

7. Will I feel anything when I apply the EVENSWISS product?

Some people say they feel a slight tingling or warmth on the treated area of the skin. This is perfectly normal when the signalling process starts, especially in thinners area (e.g. around the eyes).

8. Are there any parabens in the EVENSWISS range?

There are no parabens used in the EVENSWISS product range.

9. Are there any silicones in the EVENSWISS range?

Yes, there are silicones in our products? They are necessary to ensure the smooth texture of the EVENSWISS products (as with most other cosmetics).

There has been a lot of debate about the use of silicones in cosmetics. Some cosmetic producers are using the term ‘hypoallergenic’ to indicate “less” or “below normal” allergenic. This can be misleading as there are no allergen-free cosmetics. Allergies can thus never be totally excluded.  For this reason even with the most carefully formulated hypoallergenic products someone, somewhere is going to show an allergic reaction, even if the vast majority of people are not affected by them.

We have carried out stringent tests on all our products to ensure that they are as safe as possible.

10. Do you have AHA's, BHA's, Bisabolol, Limonene or Nanoparticles in the products?

1. AHA’s (alpha-hydroxy acids): Some products contain citric and/or lactic acid albeit at a pH of about 5.5, a level at which they do NOT act as exfoliants. Their function is to adjust the pH and/or to act as humectant (retains moisture).

2. BHA’s (beta-hydroxy acids): none

3. BISABOLOL: none

4. LIMONENE: none

5. NANOPARTICLES: none

11. Can I use other beauty products with the EVENSWISS range?

Yes, you may use other cosmetics in combination with the EVENSWISS products. The only exception to this is our Regenerating Plasma, which is normally used according to professional recommendation (i.e. repairs after burns or invasive treatments).

12. Does the effect last?

Yes, for a certain period of time. For long-term effects, however, product application has to be sustained.

After (for example) not using a product for 30 days, you may notice a gradual reduction of the achieved results. This is because the effect initiated by Dermatopoietin® begins to decline and the natural ageing process continues to take place.

Taking a one- or two-week break is therefore not an issue, for example during holidays, as long as you start the treatment again once you return.

13. Are there any long-term adverse effects?

There are no known adverse effects from long-term use of EVENSWISS products.

14. If the ingredient interleukin-1 alpha does not penetrate the skin, how does the effect work?

Interleukin-1 alpha cannot penetrate skin due to its large size. It acts locally on the skin surface by initiating a cascade of reactions upon interaction with the top layer of living cells. It does this by stimulating the keratinocytes (main cell type of the epidermis, the surface layer of skin) to cause a ‘chain reaction’.

15. Why are there only 10 products in the range?

It is the intention of the producer of EVENSWISS to focus on their strength which is skin and hair regeneration. The EVENSWISS range does therefore not contain any ‘commodities’.  Indeed, 20% of all beauty products make up 80% of product usage! The 10 products in the EVENSWISS range are in fact the most used skin care products that make up that 20%.

They target the key areas of concern for both men and women, i.e. crows feet and dark circles around the eyes, fine lines and wrinkles, the overall smoothness and firmness of facial and body skin, an even skin tone, a smooth neckline, retention of hair follicles during stress periods, and finally the reduction of cellulite for women.

16. Do EVENSWISS products contain UV filters to protect from photo aging?

EVENSWISS products are optimized for anti-aging efficacy and should be applied twice daily in the morning and the evening. In our opinion UV filters should only be applied when skin is exposed to the sun, i.e. not at night and not in-doors, especially in bad weather. Therefore, use a sun cream on top of your EVENSWISS product whenever exposing your skin to the sun.

17. What causes lines and wrinkles?

Skin aging and thus the appearance of lines and wrinkles are partly genetic ('chronological aging') and partly triggered by UV light ('photo aging'). Both mechanisms result in a loss of functional collagen and elastin in the dermis. This deficit seems to be correlated with a reduced capacity of keratinocytes in the epidermis to produce interleukin-1 alpha. EVENSWISS with Dermatopoietin® compensates for this deficit and helps to replenish skin with collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are the ' foundation' of skin, which is most important to youthful and smooth appearance.

18. Are EVENSWISS products tested on animals?

No. EVENSWISS products have been developed and tested in full compliance with the EU Cosmetics Regulation on phasing out animal testing of cosmetics and their ingredients.

19. How has the EVENSWISS range been tested and approved?

The products have undergone numerous stringent tests in Switzerland, Finland and other countries. EVENSWISS holds a number of test reports and safety certificates at its Zurich headquarters. These are available in electronic format to all our distributors and health authorities within 48 hours of request.

This transparency is unprecedented among cosmeceutical organisations and demonstrates complete confidence in the EVENSWISS products.

20. It is recommended to observe a 1-week pause after an application period of 4 weeks. Why is this?

An initial efficacy study indicated a small tendency for tolerance to Dermatopoietin®: a small loss of effect after prolonged product application. To prevent such tolerance it was therefore recommended to observe a pause after a few weeks of product application. Further research, however, showed that no tolerance occurs, that the effect does not fade and that no pause is necessary. In the light of the current experience the advice for a break is no longer warranted. On future packaging and instructions this advice for pausing will therefore be removed.

21. EVENSWISS owns a number of patents protecting its products

The Dermatopoietin® Peptide Complex represents a platform technology with applications in anti-aging skin care, hair care, oral care and potentially wound healing. It is protected by several international patents in Europe, Russia, Ukraine, USA, China, Japan, Korea, Brazil, India and Mexico.

22. The hair serum is only used for 5 days followed by a 10 day break, why is that?

Five days is sufficient time for the key ingredients to interfere with the cycle of the hair follicles and therefore reduce hair shedding. This effect consists actually in a ‘re-programming’ of the hair follicle to skip the hair loss phase. Once started it keeps on without the need for further Serum application. It does not matter when you start the process; the Serum interferes with the cycle of the hair follicles independent from their actual state. After a 10-day pause another 5-day application period is recommended. It provides a second trigger to shift the hair follicle to the growth phase and avoid hair loss.
